Osman Aslan (62), who has been making a living selling raw meatballs at Adana Bus Terminal for many years, amazes onlookers with his love for snakes. Even though he has been bitten by a snake many times while feeding it, known to the world as a “poisonless black snake,” he still never leaves the snake’s side and feeds it by hand, feeding it with milk. Osman Aslan also organizes a snake show at Adana Bus Terminal.
The moment he got bitten by the camera
Meanwhile, Osman Aslan was recently bitten on the eyebrow by a snake he was holding during a feeding show at Adana Bus Terminal – a moment captured on a mobile phone camera and garnering millions of views and likes on social media.
“Velling is from childhood.”
Osman Aslan explained that he is known as “Osman the Snake” and said: “I have love and sympathy for snakes. I love snakes very much. They are with me when I am awake or asleep. They have never harmed me in the slightest.”
Snake farming has been in our family since my childhood. People come to the cafe to play with oakies, set up tables and have fun. I get in the car and go to the fields to look for snakes. This is my job. I kiss them, I love them and then I leave them and send them off to the mountains. I even feed the snakes in my bosom. “I feed them liver, frogs and drink milk,” he says.
“The man loves animals and snakes.”
Hikmet Toprak, who works as a merchant at Adana Bus Terminal, said “Osman the Snake” is a well-known figure, adding: “Our brothers have loved snakes since childhood. He doesn’t torture animals, he feeds them.” He collects frogs with his own hands for them at night, buys their livers from the butcher and puts them in bowls to give the animals milk to drink.
There is a lot of love for animals. He does not torture animals. The man has an extreme love for animals and snakes. People are very surprised when they see Brother Osman with a snake. “The man made her sleep on his chest and fed her by hand,” he said.
