The Meteorological Directorate General (MGM) has issued a warning and counted the states one by one. Many states are expected to be affected by heavy rains and thunderstorms. Click here for state-specific weather information.
Weather outlook
According to the assessment of the General Directorate of Meteorology, the northern part of the country will be partly cloudy, while the Marmara region (except Balikesir), the western Black Sea region (except Sinop), the eastern Black Sea coast and its surrounding areas will be cloudy. Ordu and Alvin will be partly cloudy or sunny with the possibility of localized showers and thunderstorms.
Rain expected in Marmara and the Black Sea on Tuesday
Dr. Güven Özdemir, a meteorologist and lecturer at Istanbul Aydın University, recalled that Eyam-i-Bahr was a humid heat wave.
Ozdemir said these should not be called disaster-scale temperatures, adding that as of the end of July, temperatures had risen by 2 to 3 degrees.
Ozdemir said rain was expected on Tuesday in the Marmara region and the western Black Sea region, saying, “There will be localized rain. Strong northerly winds are blowing and will continue to blow. After the rains stop on Tuesday, temperatures will rise.” The perceived temperature in major cities will be 3-4 degrees above normal, “just like in past days,” he said.
Dr. Ozdemir, who issued a particular warning to the elderly, chronic patients, pregnant women and children, said:
“You should not go out between 10am and 5pm. If you have to go out, you should wear a light-coloured hat and clothes. You should stay in the shade with an umbrella. You should use natural ventilation in your home. Air conditioning is uncomfortable.” “If you go to the beach, you must stay in the shade. You may get sunstroke.”
Ozdemir added that the country, especially Istanbul, will not experience any cooling in the near future, but there will also be no major heat attacks.
Temperature: It is estimated that the temperature will fall by 3-5 degrees in the Marmara, but other places will not see any significant changes.
Winds: Northerly winds will be generally calm but occasionally moderate to strong (40-70 km/h) are expected in the southeast over Marmara, the Aegean Sea, the western Black Sea and eastern Anatolia.
caveat
Strong wind warning: Strong northerly winds (40-70 km/h) are expected in the southeastern Marmara, Aegean Sea, western Black Sea and eastern Anatolia, so caution should be exercised to avoid adverse effects.
