“All we have to do is never forget them.”
Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek said at Ali Sami Yen’s grave: “Every year, all Galatasaray fans come to remember our brother Ali Sami Yen. We mourned both Ali Sami Yen and one of our elders in Turkish football, Süleyman Seba. May their souls rest in peace. What we have to do is never forget them. It is our duty to mourn them,” he said.
“We have a champion squad and a coach. This is Galatasaray’s biggest strength.”
Mayor Ozbek expressed his thoughts on the Super Cup final to be held on Saturday, August 3, between Galatasaray and Besiktas, saying: “The transfer season is still on. We have shortcomings, which we had our teacher point out to us. Some of them have been corrected and we will correct them as soon as possible. Our work continues intensively. We have a champion team. We have a valuable coach who has been champion for two consecutive seasons. These are Galatasaray’s greatest strengths. “As a result of the study, transfers to necessary places are planned to continue.”
“Congratulations to all the athletes taking part in the Olympics.”
The Yellow Reds chairman pointed out that everyone should support the athletes who will compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, saying: “I congratulate all the athletes who will be participating in the Olympics. I kiss the eyes of all the athletes who are in the convoy. They are a source of pride for us. It is very important to be there, we have had a good victory today. We need to support them wholeheartedly. These are the precious things of Turkish sports. Especially Ali Sami Yen Bey, who brought it to the 1924 Olympics. It is also very important that he comes at such a time. “That’s why I think everyone should encourage the local athletes,” he said.
“The number eight is an area we need to strengthen significantly. We are working very hard on it. Hopefully we will be able to tell the fans the news soon,” he said of the midfield transfer.
