As part of its ongoing efforts to expand access to food, Project DASH recently worked with partners to distribute more than 100 million charitable meals across 6 million deliveries. Project DASH partners with food banks, food pantries and community organizations to deliver charitable food and essential items to homes.
To celebrate this milestone, from now through August 25, DoorDash customers can support their partners’ efforts with their next DoorDash order. When you enter promo code PROJECTDASH at checkout on any order, DoorDash will donate $3 to Feeding America, Meals on Wheels America and United Way Worldwide, national organizations leading the fight against hunger.*
With more than 44 million people across the United States experiencing food insecurity in 2022, access to affordable, nutritious food remains a serious and widespread challenge. Transportation barriers pose additional challenges for vulnerable groups, such as seniors, low-income households, and people with chronic illnesses. Delivery is an essential way to expand food access. A recent Urban Institute study supported by DoorDash concluded that delivery breaks down barriers for people who are food insecure.
Today’s announcement builds on our previous efforts to help customers support hunger-fighting organizations in the Bay Area. Earlier this year, DoorDash announced more than $500,000 in Project DASH Impact Grants to more than 200 hunger-relief organizations in over 30 states.
