Forest fires broke out in many provinces today. The fires in Izmir, Yalova, Gaziantep and Hatay have been contained, but the fires in Kahramanmaras and Antalya continue.

Kahramanmaras
The fire broke out of an unknown cause around 1:20 p.m. in a forest area near the Furniz resort in Crimiat district, Onikishbat district, Kahramanmaras province.

Eight homes in the area were evacuated.
A team from the Regional Forestry Directorate was notified and instructed to respond to the fire with six helicopters, 11 water tankers, four water tankers, three first response vehicles, one work machine and 110 personnel.
Teams continue to work to put out the fire. Residents in the area have also been evacuated, although the Gendarmerie did not allow them to enter the area.

One forest ranger affected by the smoke was taken to hospital by ambulance. Provincial gendarmerie commander Brigadier General Gokan İnan said the gendarmerie and other civil servants had coordinated their response to the blaze.
Inan said eight homes in the area had been evacuated and that efforts to extinguish the fire continued from the air with six helicopters and from land with equipment and water tankers. Inan said he had also requested the deployment of firefighting aircraft to the area.

Antalya
At around 4 p.m., a fire of unknown cause broke out in a forest area in the Yumaklar district of Serik district, Antalya.

Following the report, the Regional Forestry Directorate and the Fire Brigade were dispatched to the area. Firefighting efforts are being carried out using eight planes, six helicopters, 22 water tankers, six water tankers, five implements and a large number of firefighters.

Seven homes were evacuated due to the fire near a residential area as air and ground intervention continued.

Forest fire in Izmir
A fire of unknown cause broke out in a forest area in Kavaciuk district.
The fire was extinguished by two aircraft, four helicopters, 35 water tankers, eight water trucks, three bulldozers and four ground crews belonging to the Izmir Regional Forestry Directorate.
As a result of team efforts, the fire has been contained and cooling efforts are ongoing.

Two fires in Yalova are under control
The fires, which broke out in two different locations in the Almutlu district of Yalova, were extinguished by air and ground intervention.
Fires of unknown origin broke out in Kapakul and Keçikayaluk.
Following the report, the regional forestry office and fire brigade were dispatched to the area.
Two helicopters, 10 water tankers, two water trucks and three fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire.
The fire was extinguished by air and ground intervention teams.
The region continues to work on cooling.
Ten
Hatay fire is under control
A fire of unknown cause broke out in a forest area in Akbez district, Hassa district, Hatay city.
Upon notification, a team from the Regional Forestry Directorate, two helicopters, four first response vehicles, eight sprinkler systems and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade were dispatched to the area.
The fire, which broke out in an area of about two hectares, was contained with the intervention of air and ground teams.
A nearby drill press was also damaged in the fire.

Fire in Gazaantep: cooling works continue
The wildfire in Gaziantep was put out by air and ground intervention.
A fire of unknown origin broke out in Durk Baba forest in the center of Şehit Kamil district.
Following the report, the forest management bureau and the Metropolitan Municipal Fire Brigade intervened in the fire.
A statement from the Gaziantep governor said the fire broke out in the afternoon at the Duruk Baba Hill site.

The statement said that teams from the General Directorate of Forest Management, Metropolitan City Fire Department, Technical General Directorate, Sehit Kamil City Fire Department and Shahinbey City Fire Department, OIZ teams, water supply and work machinery made emergency interventions in the fire, and used the following expression: “According to initial determinations, the fire area is estimated at 20 decals. Agriculture and Forestry” and “A firefighting helicopter dispatched by our Ministry from Hatay Province for emergency response has arrived in the area.”
The governor’s office reported that the fire was brought under control with the intervention of 150 vehicles, nearly 1,000 personnel and one helicopter.
The region continues to work on cooling.
