At noon on June 25, in the İnyonü district of Yenisehir district, Alparslan Öztürk, owner of a gaming and entertainment business on Street 1401, fell while talking to a man in front of his apartment building when a solar-powered water tank that had been removed from the roof was lowered by a rope and fell on top of him.
Öztürk, who survived with only scratches when the water tank crashed into a railing and lost power, filed a criminal complaint against those responsible – a moment captured on security cameras at his workplace.
“The moment I raised my head, the object fell.”
Özturk, who said he still hasn’t recovered from the shock of the incident, said: “I was chatting with my brother and friends in front of the apartment building opposite my workplace when we started hearing a noise from above. The moment I raised my head, an object fell to the ground. I was immediately taken to hospital due to the impact. “I went and injured my shoulder and head, so I still feel pain in my shoulder,” he said.
“Maybe he’s not alive right now.”
Stating that he had filed a complaint against those who were negligent in the incident, Ozturk said, “I watched the video after I came back from the hospital. A water tank fell on my head. They removed it from the roof of the apartment where I lived. Luckily, I may not be on the pavement yet. While walking, I constantly look up in case something falls on my head. I have filed a complaint against those who were negligent in this incident. Maybe someone else could have taken my place,” he said.
