Recruiting in the modern era of college football is cutthroat and every detail matters. Last season, Michigan State’s annual “Big House BBQ” event became a social media sensation, but for all the wrong reasons.
Elijah Dotson, a freshman attending the University of Pittsburgh, posted a photo of the food he had at last year’s event, only for his less-than-impressive dish to be panned on social media.
This year, Director of Performance Nutrition Abigail O’Connor shared photos of the elite meals from this year’s event, appearing to have personally photographed them.

O’Connor has been with the program for many years, staying on shortly after Coach Harbaugh’s departure last season, and she has consistently been praised as a valuable member of the team’s strength and conditioning program, most recently receiving praise from head coach Sherrone Moore at Big Ten Media Day.
