Greece is a tourist’s paradise. It’s one of the few countries I’ve visited that I would want to live in permanently. From the historical attractions of Athens to the beauty of its Mediterranean islands, Greece has everything a tourist could want. But the landscape has not escaped the ravages of commercialization, as one traveler witnessed after seeing the unique view from his hotel window.
Don’t be scared of your future travel plans to Greece. The whole country is steeped in history. A trip to Athens, Greece will allow you to visit the Parthenon on the Acropolis, museums, and more. Athens is a transportation hub and covers the whole country.

The beaches along the Mediterranean coast are amazing. From the sparkling white sand to the crystal clear blue waters, they’re a must see on any trip to Greece. To experience the beaches, travel to the Greek islands. One of my favorites is Crete. It’s a short airbus ride from Athens to Chania (pronounced HAWN-Yaah). Once you’re in Chania, take a taxi to the port area. From there you can explore the port or visit the city center.

Don’t be shy: if you plan an adventure to Greece, you’ll see a life-size Shrek sign from your hotel window, but there are plenty of other great things to see. Most of the country is English-speaking, so if you find a store clerk who doesn’t speak English, look for a local kid teaching English in the local school.
