After 22 years in business at the corner of Northbridge and West Birch in downtown Chippewa Falls, the owner of 4:30am Coffee House has closed his brick-and-mortar store and is finally venturing out of the business for a food truck.
Co-owners Brenda Sawyer and Tracy Heidke have said goodbye to their longtime business, with Sawyer retiring and Heidke launching a mobile machine to get the job done. 4:30am On the Go will remain a fixture in the historic town, but will also bring its popular scones and espresso to other locations across the Chippewa Valley.
Heidke was already looking into buying a food truck to operate in conjunction with his brick-and-mortar store, so when the coffee shop offer came up, it all fell into place. The food truck business seemed destined to take off. Now operating as 4:30am On the Go, Heidke says he hopes to have thoughtfully crafted recipes and drinks on the menu by mid-August.
If you’re a regular at the downtown CF location, you’ll be happy to know that your favorite dishes are still available: Heidke says the truck will have a scaled-down version of its previous menu, but it will still have all the fan-favorites like the Cinna Toile Roll, New York Iced Coffee, and house salad with a fantastic poppy seed dressing.

When you visit this mobile coffee shop, you’ll be asking yourself what your favorite scone flavor is. You’ll need to make multiple visits to choose between chocolate chip, cinnamon peach, mixed berry, chocolate peanut butter, raspberry white chocolate, or a new treat yet to be introduced.
