Bulgaria on fire
On July 13, a fire broke out in the Svilengrad region of Bulgaria, six kilometers from the Turkish border.
Over the course of two days, the fires spread south to Muradinovo and Mihalychy, reducing tens of thousands of hectares of forest and farmland in the region to ashes.
Turkiye also assisted in the firefighting efforts.
Bulgaria’s fire brigade and civil defense officials reported more than 200 fires across the country in recent days.
