SGI spokesman Tyler McMurchy said highways could be congested this weekend as people travel across the state for Easter gatherings.
“You need to understand that roads will be busier, you’re more likely to encounter winter weather, and know what you’re going to be facing,” McMurchie said.
He reminded drivers to check highway hotlines and weather forecasts before setting off.
“Winter driving conditions require you to slow down and increase your following distance from the vehicle in front of you.”
McMarthy advised people to leave early for their destination and make sure their vehicle is equipped for winter weather and prepared for emergencies.
