Explaining that humidity in Istanbul is most effective along the Black Sea coast, Çalışkan said: “Sariyer, Şile and its railway line are the most humid. “If you are in places far from the sea, such as Ümraniye and Esenyurt, it can be hard to breathe at night because of the wind,” he said.

Çalışkan explained that due to humidity the perceived temperature in Sariyer reached 45 degrees, while in Beylikdüz it was 41 degrees, in Ümraniye it was 40 degrees and in Kadıköy it was 38 degrees.

“The new week is going to be relaxing.”
Çalışkan said humidity would decrease in Istanbul from Sunday. “The humidity will drop towards 70 percent. “It will be a little easier on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.” Çalışkan said temperatures could drop slightly in the coming days.

Dry heat in the south
Çalışkan described the southern regions as dry and hot, while there was a risk of flooding in the east. He said sudden heavy rains had fallen in Erzurum, Ağli, Erzincan, Muş and Bingöl, and warned the public to be careful.

The IMM Disaster Coordination Centre also issued a warning about the weather situation in the city.
According to AKOM data, temperatures are expected to remain in the range of 34-38 degrees Celsius due to the heatwave that is expected to affect the area until Monday, and these values may feel 5-10 degrees higher than the actual measured values. If the humidity is high.
It said that in Kartal, Kadikoy, Florya and Beylikduz the perceived temperature will reach above 42 degrees.
In a statement, AKOM recommended that citizens not spend long periods in the sun between 11am and 6pm, drink plenty of fluids, and choose light cotton clothing appropriate for seasonal conditions, saying that “not exposing yourself to the environment is beneficial for your health.”
