Fenerbahce President Ali Koc made breaking statements at the TFF General Assembly.
“This is a sad story for us.”
I will be speaking for 15 minutes today. We already have about 300 delegates, but it seems that no one has any intention, excitement or need to give a speech… This is a sad situation for us.
“Congratulations to our national team.”
We sincerely congratulate the national football team on their success at EURO 2024. Reaching the quarter-finals at EURO 2024 is a great success amidst all the troubles, scandals and turmoil that Turkish football has been through in recent years. We congratulate Vincenzo Montella, the technical team and the players for the victory they have achieved, their football and the happiness they have brought to our country.
“We condemn the punishment meted out to Mel Demidral.”
I would like to open the brackets for Merih Demiral. We all condemn the punishment given to the football player after the end of the match against Austria. This act is a symbol of Turkish history and culture, it did not target anyone, it was without any basis, it was just a symbol to express ourselves. . Regardless of opinions, the attitude and spirit of unity and solidarity that we have shown as a country and as a people in the path that our national team has taken and in the unjust punishment given to Meri deserves praise.
“We have no choice.”
When football is not positioned correctly, it becomes one of the most destructive elements in society. Unfortunately, the way football is run in our country is in every sense considered a dividing element, not a uniting element. As Fenerbahçe, the elections taking place here today are invalid for us. What happened up until the voting day on July 18 was extremely anti-democratic, because this will of you and us, the representatives who represent millions of football fans, was taken away. Unfortunately, we cannot say here that “sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the state.”
“The worst president in history…”
Congratulations to the Federation President, Mr. Büyükeksi… His management style is not accepted anywhere in society and he is seen by many as the worst TFF president in the century-old history of football, which has caused an unprecedented scandal, the main cause of the crisis is the TFF process. It is an extraordinary success that you appear before us today as a presidential candidate, despite being a president who did not take any responsibility and blamed others. I commend you for your extraordinary agility, who was booed everywhere you went, despite not being able to come to the stadiums of Fenerbahçe or Beşiktaş, because of your incompetence in management. Well done. I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart to the lobby for continuing your work. Bravo.
“To all the clubs who have withdrawn their signatures, do you feel cheated?”
As we all know, a petition was started by the majority of football stakeholders. The campaign was my own, but many clubs, including the big four, supported it in the early stages of the process. This process, which is a democratic right, was tried to be suppressed by anti-democratic pressure and the President’s promise to hold snap elections on July 18th without candidates, but 147 signatures were collected. Our TFF President should take this warning seriously, but to think of this as “the initiative of a few clubs, 3-5” is an insult to you, the delegates who elected him.
I would like to ask the clubs who withdrew their signatures, believing the promise that “the elections will be held on July 18th and Büyükeksi will not run”. Do you feel deceived? In this process, many clubs who had signed using state authorities withdrew their signatures, and clubs who were planning to sign also refrained from signing. In this process, those who signed or were considering signing were advised not to get on Ali Koç’s boat. The football world is so small, we all talk to each other. The extremely democratic process is undermined by absurd anti-democratic rhetoric such as promising to pay back past debts to some clubs, and nonsense anti-democratic rhetoric such as “don’t sign with some clubs, they carefully choose the referees they appoint. Your match. “
