The indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Prosecutor’s Office states that on June 2, 2023, a party was held at the Polat couple’s house for Engin Polat’s birthday in Cekmakhöy, where a baby was born to a guest who had come there. When the group fell ill and a guest turned towards the parked car to go to the doctor, he saw another car driving in front of his car, and after receiving the report, Engin Polat went to his neighbor Metin SA, the indictment states. He asked his neighbor to tow his car to his house, but could not find him. Engin and Dilan Polat then encountered Metin SA on the road and got into an argument, and as the argument escalated, he ended up punching the man. The indictment states that the complainant Metin SA stated that he had to leave his car on the road because cars coming to Polat were parked in the way. According to the report received from the Istanbul Anatolian Forensic Branch, the complainant sustained minor injuries as a result of the beating, and the indictment states that Dilan Porat was also sentenced to 8 years and 4 months. Engin Porat was sentenced to prison for “insult”, “injury” and “multiple threats” and is seeking a maximum sentence of 11 years and 4 months for “violation of residence exemption”.
