The City of Houston will be giving out free water and ice at five locations on Tuesday, July 16th.
HOUSTON — As recovery from Hurricane Beryl continues across the Houston area, many people remain struggling as widespread power outages shut down businesses, leaving many with unexpected expenses and leaving families without food.
Distribution efforts are being organized by the City of Houston, the Houston Food Bank and other organizations to meet demand.

Water and ice distribution points
The City of Houston will be handing out free water and ice on Tuesday, July 16th from 3pm to 7pm at the following locations:

Houston Food Bank, HISD Food Distribution at Delmar Stadium
HISD and the Houston Food Bank will distribute free food and supplies on Tuesday, July 16th at Delmar Stadium (2020 Mangum Road).
This campaign is open to anyone who needs help.
Families who receive SNAP benefits can receive assistance directly from food banks.
The food bank also needs volunteers to help pack 10,000 disaster boxes per day for Beryl victims and others facing hardship.
Individual (including children) and group volunteers are welcome. Registration can be done online. Shifts are Monday to Saturday, 8am to noon, 12pm to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, 6pm to 9pm, and Sunday, 9am to noon.

Hot Meal Distribution for Harris County 1st District
County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, 1st District, is handing out free hot meals until 2 p.m., or while supplies last. The event will be held at the El Camino Center, 2727 El Camino Street.

Cactus Jack Foundation and Houston Food Bank distribute ice, water and food
Houston rapper Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation will be teaming up with the Food Bank, Fort Bend Independent School District and Pepperonis to hold a distribution on Tuesday night.
It will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Thurgood Marshall High School, 1220 Buffalo Run (Fondren entrance) in Missouri City.
Travis Scott will not be performing as he is currently on tour.

Distribution activity on Wednesday, July 17th
Houston Food Bank in Rosenberg
The Houston Food Bank, the Office of Emergency Management and Fort Bend County Judge KP George will host a food and water distribution event at the EpiCentre in Rosenberg on Wednesday, July 17 at 4 p.m. The EpiCentre is located at 28505 Southwest Freeway.
“During these difficult times, the residents of Fort Bend County can count on our unwavering support and compassion. Together, we can make a difference. If you would like to lend a helping hand, we encourage you to join our volunteer team and help our community,” George said.
IDEA Public Schools provides free meals to children
Starting Wednesday, July 17, three more IDEA schools will provide free meals to all children affected by Hurricane Beryl.
Meals will be served at all three campuses, including IDEA Hardy, IDEA Spears and IDEA Lake Houston, through Friday, July 26. Breakfast will be served weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
IDEA Spears and IDEA Hardy will begin paid meal distribution on Monday and continue through July 26th.
All children in the community under the age of 18 are eligible to receive nutritious meals. Children do not have to be IDEA students.
Distribution activity on Saturday, July 20th
Bread of Life
Bread of Life in downtown Houston will host another drive-thru distribution event in conjunction with its third annual All-In Back-to-School event on Saturday, July 20, from 8 a.m. to noon at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2019 Crawford St.
Items will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
Nonperishable food items such as canned, boxed, or bagged goods; hygiene items such as toothbrushes, soap, wipes, and disinfectant; disaster relief items such as flashlights and first aid kits; school supplies such as notebooks, paper, pencils, crayons, glue, and backpacks.
