CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper-Natrona County Health Department inspects restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food vendors, food stands, food vending machines, etc. All establishments undergo unannounced inspections at least twice a year.
According to the ministry, “there are three types of violations: priority, priority base and core.”
While the Department of Health looks for deficiencies, the organization’s main goal is to educate companies and help them understand unsafe practices and how to correct them.
According to Natrona County’s Environmental Health Program Manager, “There is no sliding scale or pass/fail for sanitation inspections. All violations are corrected immediately or within 10 days, so violations do not put your business at risk.
If a reinspection is required, it could be that the issues were more serious or the facility needs more time to fix the problems. There is a 10-day grace period to fix the issues, and Heald said most facilities can easily meet the requirements.
Any significant violations or noteworthy remarks will be included in the summary memo below, but full reports for each restaurant can be found on the agency’s website, where all the latest information is made public.
