Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safedi spoke at a press conference after meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdulati in Cairo.
“We are facing a decisive situation in Gaza”
“Israel has committed war crimes unprecedented in modern history,” Safadi said, adding:
“We are currently facing a worsening situation in the Gaza Strip and we stress that the international community must act and take effective measures to stop the attacks.
“There is no justification for the international failure to stop attacks on Gaza and enforce international law.”
“Palestinian displacement is a red line for us.”
Safadi stressed that the issue of forced Palestinian displacement was a “red line” for Jordan and Egypt, saying “Israel has turned Gaza into a graveyard not of its children, but of international law and common human values,” he said.
Safadi also said, “Israel is seeking to end its refugee problem by liquidating the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).”
Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdulati said he continued to call for serious steps to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and to stop Israeli attacks on the country.
Abdulati added that he rejects attempts to resolve the Palestinian issue and impose a fait accompli policy aimed at expelling the Palestinians.
