Spain aims for fourth championship
By beating France to reach the final, Spain moved one step closer to winning the European Cup for the fourth time in their history.
Spain is one of the two teams with the happiest endings to the tournament as three-time winners, reaching the final for the fifth time. The Spanish team won the Cup in 1964, 2008 and 2012, and was runner-up in 1984.
This will be Spain’s third time in the last five tournaments to reach the final.

Player of the Match award goes to Yamal
UEFA announced that 16-year-old Lamine Yamal was named Player of the Match.
Yamal’s stylish goal after 21 minutes put his team level and made him the youngest player in the history of European Championships to score a goal (16 years and 362 days).
Having made his mark in football history, Yamal was also deemed worthy of UEFA’s World Player of the Year award.
Spain defeated France 2-1 in the semi-finals of the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024) to become the first ever finalist.
France took the lead in the 9th minute when Mbappé received the ball on the left wing, entered the penalty area and passed it to Kolo Muani, who stood up well in the right situation and headed the ball into the net, making it 0-1.
Spain equalized in the 21st minute with a goal from 16-year-old Yamal. Lamine Yamal received the ball on the right side of the penalty area and fired a left-footed shot from 25 metres out. The leather ball reached a speed of 102 kph, hit the far post and went into the goal. -1.
Spain took the lead in the 25th minute when Jesus Navas sent a cross from the right wing that defender Upamecano tried to head in off the post, but Olmo got a shot from the right side of the penalty area and smashed a powerful shot into the far corner, which, despite Koundé’s defensive intervention, went in for 2-1.
In the second half, we struggled to get into position and no goals were scored.
After trailing 0-1, Spain won 2-1 to reach the final.
