Beyond Oil, a company based in Kibbutz Yifat, Israel, has developed an innovative technology that makes fried foods healthier to consume. This groundbreaking invention addresses the global issue of repeated use of frying oils resulting in the release of toxic substances such as burnt food particles, free fatty acids (FFA), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and acrylamide (AA), which increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer.
The practice of repeatedly using frying oil for days on end is a major health problem worldwide. Deeply ingrained in the global food industry, this practice can be found in restaurant kitchens, hotels, catering services and deep frying factories. Changing the oil every time, as is done domestically or even once a day, would significantly increase food prices. Many consumers are unaware of the problem and powerless to make the necessary changes. Solutions need to come from governments and health agencies around the world.
Extensive research in the medical and scientific literature, including by health authorities and various legislative bodies in the United States and Europe, has revealed that there is a direct association between eating foods fried in “recycled oils” – which make up approximately 20% of our diet – and inhaling the fumes of such oils with serious health conditions including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lung disease and obesity, which affect individuals throughout their lives.

The company’s research, conducted in collaboration with renowned experts from Hebrew Universities and Hospitals, has confirmed that Beyond Oil’s filtering powder absorbs toxins and effectively restores oil, allowing restaurants to reuse oil for several days while protecting consumers and kitchen staff.
Professor Oren Frochter, head of the Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Intensive Care at the Wolfson Medical Center and professor at the Tel Aviv University School of Medicine, emphasizes in his study that “kitchen staff in restaurants, hotels, event halls and frying factories inhale frying fumes throughout their working hours, unaware of the crucial fact that food is fried hundreds of times over several days in the same oil, exposing them to the risk of various cancers.” His study concludes that “in the medical field, we usually report new drugs and treatments for cancer to help humanity deal with this deadly disease that causes great morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this case, the use of Beyond Oil’s filtering powder is a preventive measure that can reduce the illness caused by exposure to frying fumes.”
Professor Flochter encourages health systems around the world to collaborate with Beyond Oil: “Beyond Oil’s innovative solutions will make a significant contribution to humanity in the medical field by reducing cancer morbidity and mortality caused by exposure to fried food smoke, thereby significantly improving the health of the entire population. The abovementioned preventive health approach, which is adopted by most health systems around the world, can benefit from increased public awareness, appropriate regulation and enforcement, and improved awareness of this morbidity and its causes.”
Many restaurants and commercial kitchens in Israel and around the world are already using Beyond Oil’s solutions. Beyond Oil shares recently began trading on the Canadian Stock Exchange, resulting in a significant increase in the stock price. The company aims to establish the formula as a mandatory global health standard. In Israel, Beyond Oil powder is sold exclusively by Fandango, Israel’s largest oil recovery company. Fandango invested in the company in a funding round recently announced on the stock exchange.
Beyond Oil is calling on governments and health organizations to adopt its technology as a mandatory standard, and the company believes its solution could significantly reduce morbidity and mortality associated with eating foods fried in contaminated oil, saving billions of dollars in healthcare costs worldwide.
