He assessed the training camp, explained the work he personally did during the summer break and also spoke highly of that successful name Jose Mourinho. Regarding the transfer of Çalar Söyuncu, coach Cengiz Ünder said he believes they will have a good season.
I feel prepared and strong
Cengiz Ünder, who first assessed the process of the camp and then answered questions about his personal studies during the summer, said: “It’s clear in the training, but no matter how much you prepare, the beginning of the season is always very difficult. This time is especially difficult. The camp on the Topuk Plateau was very hard, but here it is also very tiring. We are working very hard in training. Training → rest → sleep … This is how time passes. The road period is like this … During the season the difference is even more visible. I usually worked during the summer. After the rest period, I started to work continuously on my physiotherapy abroad. He also lives with me now. He worked with me for two years while I was in Marseille. Then a year passed and he couldn’t come. Now we are working together again. His contribution to me was huge. We have been constantly training with him. We have already been with Charal all summer. We have always worked together. I feel that I am ready and even stronger. A new coach has come. “I feel that it will give us even more strength,” he said.
I am really proud to work with Mourinho. His closeness to the players is very different.
Expressing his views on Jose Mourinho, Cengiz said, “I think he is the best person for Turkish football. I think you all think so too. He is a very important name especially for our club and the Fenerbahce community. It is a real honor for us to be able to work with him. In my previous response, I said that I would like to work hard with you, teacher. I said this a long time ago. In general, it is the dream of every Turkish footballer. If you name one or two people, everyone would answer Jose Mourinho. We are working and training with him now. We also feel different. This is a very special situation for us. I hope that with him, we can achieve the success that we want. I truly believe that we can do it. We are in a different situation now. I think this will also become very clear. A beautiful season awaits us. We are ready for anything. “I hope it will be the season we wanted,” he said.
Stating that Jose Mourinho has a close relationship with his footballers, Cengiz said: “Our coach likes to have close relationships. He has a close relationship with everyone. This is very important for a footballer. The footballer is in constant communication with the coach… this increases his confidence and he always talks about his shortcomings. The most important thing is empathy. His closeness to the players is very different. Everyone is in a very good mood. Training is tiring but… everything is going well. I am very happy,” he said.

Coach Cengiz Ünder expressed his satisfaction with the transfer of Çalar Söyuncu and said, “I am very happy to be with Çalar again.” We were together during the summer, and Çalar had only Fenerbahçe in his mind. I say this with all my heart. He always said that he wanted to be at Fenerbahçe. That was the only thought that was in his mind. He fought with his club until the end. No other clubs could even enter his mind. His only goal was to come here. I am very happy for him, and I am also very happy that he can join this community again. He is now a Fenerbahçe player. He is not on loan, he is our player on transfer. He has been my friend for many years. He always deserves the best in everything. He has a very pure heart. I am very happy to have a friend for many years. We are at the beginning of this season, but I think it is clear that on the field we are a more established team. ” he said.
I also did a lot to come to this club. I gave everything. My only aim was to come to Fenerbahce.
Cengiz Ünder assessed last season especially towards himself, saying: “From my point of view, last year I had both very good and very sad memories. My injuries sometimes got in the way. Before coming, I played two years for Marseille and I didn’t have any injuries. In some cases, you can experience these as psychological and stressful. I had done so much to come to this club, so when I got injured, I was very sad. I gave it my all. My only goal was to come to Fenerbahçe. I spoke about this with the president and also with my brother Mirsad all the time. All I had in my head was Fenerbahçe. Of course in football injuries can happen. I know that you all have high expectations of me. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen. It didn’t happen. “Because I had the injury, I couldn’t reflect on my performance,” he said.
Highlighting that the most difficult period for him last season was the injury period, Cengiz said: “The fact that it’s in my country makes it even sadder. You’re close to your family, close to your loved ones. Being abroad allowed me to see this from a different perspective. When you come to your country, as someone who loves the club dearly, you want to give everything for that club. But when you get injured, it can be even worse, especially in your home country. This is very sad for us. “Maybe we’re a bit stuck on that,” he said in a statement.
It’s going to be a great season and I think we can reach the pinnacle that we deserve.
Finally, manager Cengiz Ünder gave the following assessment of next season: “I think the expectations of the fans are very high this season as always. Our only goal is the championship. Nothing is unthinkable at this club, even in the Turkish League. I think one of our advantages is our teacher. I think his influence will be very apparent in Turkey as well. I think the teacher element is very important. It’s going to be a great season. I think we’ll take our deserved top spot.” He concluded by saying this.
