Isaac Hirsch impressed Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings by winning a total of more than $45,000 over two days, but it turns out this wasn’t his first game show experience.
Isaac Hirsch is no stranger to competitions (Jeopardy!).
Jeopardy! viewers were left speechless when they learned that winner Isaac Hirsch had a history of competing on game shows.
The customer support representative took on Josh Martin and Kristin Roberts on Thursday’s broadcast and emerged victorious. Isaac fell behind before the first commercial break but managed to fight his way back to take the lead with a final score of $28,801. Josh came in second with $15,199 and Kristin took third with $4,400.
Isaac was the two-day champion with a total of $47,986 in winnings, breaking the recent record of a single-day winner, but that wasn’t the only thing that got fans talking – many were shocked to find out that Isaac had previously competed on The Chase.

Isaac Hirsch wowed viewers with his win (Jeopardy!)
One viewer shared the new information on Reddit, writing: “Great performance from Isaac. Not sure if anyone has pointed this out already but I just realized he was in ‘The Chase’ last year against Buzzy.”
Another shocked fan replied: “Wow I thought you looked familiar!!” When Isaac appeared on The Chase, he defeated Tournament of Champions winner Buzzy Cohen.
Buzzy competed as a chaser on the show, competing against Isaac in season 3. Isaac and teammates John Lance and Allison Johnson defeated Buzzy to win a combined total of $140,000.

This isn’t the only show Isaac has appeared on. He also competed on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” in 2017. Although he got seven questions right on the show, he only won $5,000 after missing the question that was worth $20,000.
On the latest episode of Jeopardy!, host Ken Jennings admitted to being impressed by Isaac’s huge winnings: “Wow, that’s a pretty nice payday,” Jennings said, while Isaac laughed proudly.
Viewers were also very encouraging, with one person writing on social media: “Yay! Another great anecdote. Keep it up. Make it 5!”, while another commented: “I wouldn’t mind Isaac staying on the show for a while, he’s so smart and fun. Strong performance from Isaac.”
