Carnival, Forte, Sportage and Seltos achieve best first half sales ever
IRVINE, Calif., July 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Kia America achieved its best first-half EV sales in the company’s history, as well as the second-best first-half total sales. The brand’s best-selling models through the first half of 2024 were the Sportage SUV and Forte sedan.
Kia America has sold more than 5,000 electric vehicles for three consecutive months, bringing its total to 29,392 electric vehicles sold through the first half of the year, an increase of 112 percent year-over-year and demonstrating strong growth momentum for the company’s electric vehicle sales.
Kia America’s EV sales hit record high in first half of fiscal year
Four Kia models set new sales records for the first half of the year: Carnival (+18 percent), Forte (+13 percent), Sportage (+11 percent) and Seltos (+1 percent).
“Kia’s leadership as a sustainable mobility solutions provider and our expanding selection of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric utility vehicles give us the most well-rounded lineup in the industry,” said Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations, Kia America. “With the first hybrid Carnival MPV coming soon and expanding availability of the improved K5 sedan, Kia continues to offer customers award-winning choices, and we expect to see further growth in consumer demand and traffic to Kia showrooms in the second half of the year.”

Kia attended Electrify Expo Long Beach to display its fully electric EV6 and EV9 models. Additionally, attendees could take part in test drives to get hands-on experience with the EV6 and EV9 vehicles. Durham, North Carolina was selected as the headquarters for IONNA, a charging network founded by a coalition of the world’s top automakers, including Kia, BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, MB and Stellantis.
