DUBAL – A hearing was held today at the Ankara 4th High Criminal Court regarding the incident in which 103 people were killed in two suicide bomb attacks, three seconds apart, organized by ISIS at a peace rally in Ankara on October 10, 2015.
Announcing the verdict, the court panel sentenced Yakup Sahin, Hakan Sahin, Resul Demir, Ibrahim Halil Al-Say, Haci Ali Durmaz, Erman Ekici, Talha Gunes and Huseyin Tunci to 101 aggravated life sentences for murder and 379 sentences of 18 years for attempted murder.
It also decided to acquit Elman Ekixi of crimes against humanity and separate his file from the other defendants who remain at large.

Two suicide bombings, three seconds apart, struck a crowd gathered at a rally in front of Ankara train station, killing 103 people and leading to three days of national mourning being declared following the attack.
The first hearing was held on November 7, 2016, after the indictment prepared by the Ankara Chief Prosecutor’s Office was accepted by the Ankara 4th High Criminal Court on July 13, 2016.
In the case, which was decided on August 3, 2018, the nine defendants were given a total of 101 aggravated life imprisonment sentences, one for “violating the constitutional order” and 100 for “intentional murder.” The nine defendants were also sentenced to 10,557 years in prison each for attempted murder.
