The main points of President Erdogan’s remarks are as follows: I am very pleased to join you on the occasion of the local government consultation and evaluation meeting. I hope that the meeting we held with the participation of all mayors after the elections on March 31 will be a meaningful one, and I would like to thank in advance all of my friends who have contributed and will contribute to the content of the meeting. I would like to sincerely congratulate the new and re-elected mayors, wish them good luck, and wish each of them success in serving their cities and citizens.
I would like to pay tribute to all the departments who supported the organization of the conference together with the headquarters and local governments. Last year, three consecutive elections were held with an interval of 10 months. Of course, we met with the mayors on various occasions during the election period. However, due to the elections, we were not able to hold a well-attended consultative evaluation meeting, which is the trademark of the AK Party.

Early last month, we came to Kızılçahmaşam again with our old and new staff and parliamentarians. We value consultation and dialogue at all levels and seek common sense solutions to the issues on the agenda for our country and our party. With this understanding, we wanted to unite with our AK Party mayoral friends, from big cities to provinces, districts and town municipalities. So, let’s discuss the results of the local elections. Let’s discuss in detail the needs and projects of our cities. We also decided to draw up a roadmap for the next term based on your suggestions. I would like to thank all the mayors, group deputy mayors and the chairpersons of the provincial assembly for coming here in response to our invitation. In the future, we hope to meet with you, Mr. President, often during our visits to the regencies and during various meetings.

As we all know, the story of the AK Party is a local to mass success story. We are not a top-down party like other parties, but a party born and raised locally among the people themselves. Exactly 30 years ago, we started our journey of serving the nation in local government and set out towards new goals with an exemplary report card in local governance. Our success in local government has opened new doors and new horizons for us. We first proved our policies through practice in local government. We first created solutions for our country’s problems in local government.
The AK Party’s biggest source of information is local governments.
We have to adapt to the changes. We need to better keep the pulse of our youth.
Our competitors started imitating and copying us. In a way, we were mentoring our political opponents.
We conducted a financial statement based on the messages of voters on March 31. Let’s march with the emphasis on changing the flag.
