Uber Eats and Postmates were mythical services that I’d long heard my favorite YouTubers in Los Angeles talk about. A few years ago, they finally came to Grand Rapids. But it sounded too good to be true, and while my friends were excited about this new bounty, I found myself two miles outside of delivery range. I was in real shock.

Over time, Uber Eats has spread across Michigan, becoming a lifesaver for lazy people who don’t want to go out and get food. But while southern Michigan residents are lucky enough to have their fill, much of northern Michigan is a food delivery dead zone.

Uber Eats dead zone
Recently, the Uber Eats website[場所]When I visited the tab, I was shown an extensive list of towns and cities where Uber Eats delivers in each state, but there was no way to visualize where all these locations actually deliver to.
So I did something geeky and created a custom Google Maps page to discover the delivery gaps in Michigan.
Obviously, northern Michigan is less densely populated, which may explain why there are fewer cities that offer delivery, but the sheer size of the map is pretty surprising.
