In April last year, the military police, patrolling the Inegol district, arrested Gyokumen K., who was allegedly having sex with his daughter, in a parked car that was being investigated for suspicion. When Gyokumen K. saw the security forces in front of him, he pulled up his pants, zipped them up, and said in tears, “What have I done? May God curse me, commander. Let’s go. This will never happen again.” RK, who was accompanied by an educator as a victim and made a statement after the incident, said, “I was pressured by my father to ‘go to another woman,’ and I was scared, so I accepted the offer of a relationship. My family has fallen apart. He used to take me to an empty lot in his car. We were finally caught. ” Gyokumen K. was arraigned in court after the procedure.
During questioning by the prosecutor, Gyeokmen K said that his daughter told him, “The statements I made before are not true. My father was pressuring me at home. He didn’t want me to go out. I changed my statement and said, “I had to lie like that when I was arrested,” and was released.
Defense lawyer’s terrible defense
The trial of Gökmen K., who was sued by the İnegöl Second High Criminal Court seeking a maximum 30-year prison sentence for “competent sexual abuse of a child,” has begun. At the hearing, where Gökmen K. denied the charges, defendant’s lawyer Sedat Gülen said, “My client faced this charge because she was seen pulling on her zipper that day.” Gülen said, “My daughter later told the truth. Also, considering that such an incident occurred, the victim was over 15 years old and consented, it is not a crime. Therefore, I seek the acquittal of my daughter. My client.”
The military police officer who committed the crime was tried as a witness.
Military police officers interviewed as witnesses at the hearing said that when the man in the driver’s seat of the car they were investigating saw them, he pulled up his zipper, and the girl next to him threw back her head and said: “They asked the now accused: ‘What is going on?’ When we asked, ‘What have I done?’ He said: ‘May God curse me, Commander. Let’s go.’ “This will never happen again,” she said, crying, and the girl said she had sex at her father’s request so she wouldn’t abandon her family.
The court granted custody to the daughter.
After a hearing in which relatives of the defendant Gyokumen K. were also called as witnesses, the court decided to place the girl, who had been sexually abused by her father, under state protection. The court assessed that the girl had changed her statement under pressure and decided to rearrest the defendant and send him to prison.
