Timur Cihantimur, the unlicensed son of writer Eylem Tok and aesthetician Bülent Cihantimur, fled to the United States after killing Oghuz Murat Asi in an accident with a luxury car. Tok and Cihantimur, who were issued a red notice, were caught after a courier who delivered food they ordered to their home reported them. Tok’s hearing, who appeared before a judge recently, was postponed. Cihantimur will appear before a judge again today. While photos of Cihantimur in prison were made public, attention was also focused on Tok’s dyed hair.
CİHANTİMUR’S REQUEST FOR RELEASE WAS REJECTED
According to Aksham News, the lawyers based their defense on Cihan Timur’s poor conditions. They argued that Timur Cihan Timur, who is staying in a rehabilitation prison for child detainees, is forced to do labor such as weeding and cleaning floors and toilets, and the lawyers said, “He is in very poor conditions in the correctional facility. This child needs the necessary support. We are worried that he will have difficulty integrating into society and will harm himself.” Journalist Erkan Ozturk, who attended the hearing at the Boston Federal Court, said Timur Cihan Timur’s face showed signs of assault and he showed a panicked attitude.
The judge also rejected a request by Cihantimur’s lawyers to change his location if he was not released.
Additionally, photographs of Cihantimur in prison were also released.
Tock’s hearing is set for June 27th.
Following a request from US prosecutor Levy, the court decided to continue the detention of Eylem Tok and his son Timur Cihantimur. Cihantimur will appear before the judge again today at 4:30pm Turkish time in the Boston courthouse. His lawyers plan to request Cihantimur’s release again. It is understood that the court will make a final decision. Eylem Tok’s trial will continue until June 27th.
He dyed his hair
Aylem Tok was represented by a lawyer appointed by the US Department of Justice. Tok reportedly asked to be replaced after arriving late to the hearing. Aylem Tok was seen wearing an orange jumpsuit, with her dark hair dyed blonde and makeup. Tok appeared visibly exhausted and communicated through an interpreter.
