In Denizli, a father and son were attacked in the middle of the street by two unknown assailants, leaving a 16-year-old boy dead and his father seriously injured.
The incident took place in Gümüşçay district of Merkezefendi district. According to information received, father Emra Ghermez and son Muhammet Huseyin Ghermez (16) were driving on the road when two unidentified people from an approaching vehicle opened fire with guns. As a result of the fire, many bullets hit the father and son in different parts of their bodies. Following reports from nearby residents, many health and police teams were dispatched to the area. The medical teams administered first aid and transferred the seriously injured father Emra Ghermez to Denizli Provincial Hospital in an ambulance, while the son Muhammet Huseyin Ghermez, who was also seriously injured, was transferred to Pamukkale University Hospital. The 16-year-old youth was rushed to the hospital, but despite all the interventions of the doctors, his life could not be saved. It was learned that the father Ghermez’s health condition was found to be critical and he underwent emergency surgery.
Meanwhile, police teams have launched a massive operation to identify and arrest the attackers, he said. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
