Moscow police have detained three people following a food poisoning incident that has hospitalized dozens of people, Russian state media reported on Tuesday, citing law enforcement officials.
Health officials said Monday that more than 120 people had sought medical help and at least 30 were in intensive care with suspected food poisoning, a life-threatening illness that can affect the nervous system and cause respiratory failure and paralysis.
Authorities said the poisoning came from salads delivered by Kuhunya na Rayone, a delivery service that temporarily suspended operations on Sunday after police launched a criminal investigation into the poisoning.
TASS reported that Anton Rosin, general director of Kuhunya na Rayone, was among those arrested in connection with the investigation.

Two Gastroport employees who prepared the salad were also arrested, according to an unconfirmed report from the Baza Telegram channel, which is said to have ties to Russian security services.
Russia’s Investigative Committee, which investigates serious crimes, has opened a separate case of illegal immigration after it discovered during its investigation that “several foreign nationals” had been illegally registered at their residence.
Moscow Deputy Mayor Anastasia Lakova said on Monday that “there is no danger to the lives” of those hospitalized thanks to timely medical intervention.
