Minister Tunç: “Turkiye will also intervene in cases of genocide perpetrated against Israel”
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunci, who spent Eid al-Adha in his hometown of Bartın, attended a celebration held at the AK Party Provincial Headquarters on the second day of the holiday. Minister Tunci, who celebrated with party members, responded harshly to Israel and incompetent international organizations.
“Israel is behaving like a terrorist organization.”
Minister Tunci said Israel continues its attacks like a terrorist organization in front of the world’s eyes, saying, “We have not been able to stop the Israeli attackers. They have been occupying Palestinian land for a century, up to this day. Unfortunately, we have not been able to stop the Israeli attackers.” The State of Israel has not complied with any decision of the United Nations or any international organization. “Israel is acting as an organization, not as a state. This massacre has been going on for nine months. It happened in front of the world’s eyes,” he said.
Reaction to international organizations
Minister Tunci also said that the efforts of international organizations cannot be put into action, saying, “International organizations are powerless. Unfortunately, international organizations are not enough to stop this bloodshed and prevent crimes against humanity from being committed. The ceasefire decision was made by international organizations.” It was voted for by a majority in the UN General Assembly, but it could not be implemented. A ceasefire decision was made at the last UN Security Council, but unfortunately, no country has adhered to that decision. Revealing again on the issue of Palestine and Gaza, he said, “He requested an arrest warrant for the crimes committed, especially genocide, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression. He demanded the arrest of those who committed these crimes, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, but unfortunately this request was not made. It has not yet been handled by the relevant courts of the International Criminal Court.”
Prime Minister Turkiye participated in massacre against Israel
Minister Tunci said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice are working together to enable Turkey to intervene in the case regarding South Africa’s alleged genocide against Israel, which is being heard at the International Court of Justice. Stating that preparations have reached the completion stage, Minister Tunci said, “There is a case that started at the International Court of Justice and is still ongoing. It started with an application by South Africa. We made a declaration as the Republic of Turkey. Our president announced our decision to intervene in this case. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice will complete a joint study on this issue. Turkey will intervene in this case and the ruling has been made that the State of Israel has violated this treaty in all its elements,” he said.
“Attentional decisions cannot be performed”
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunci noted that an injunction had been issued in the case pending in The Hague, but this decision has not yet been implemented: “First of all, an injunction has been issued in the case pending at the International Court of Justice. There is also a court decision to stop the genocide there. This court decision, too, “is enforced by the UN Security Council. Unfortunately, there has been no progress in the Security Council regarding the implementation of this decision.”
“Unfortunately, international law is in place.”
“Unfortunately, international institutions and international laws are being trampled on. International organizations that are always shouting for children’s rights and women’s rights are silent about the massacre of children,” Tunci said, referring to the violation of international law in the Palestinian issue. “Unfortunately, it shows what double standards they have,” he said of the killing of women in Gaza.
“The blood that has been shed will be held accountable.”
Tunci called on Israel to stop the genocide and said Israel will take responsibility for its actions. “Our president has always said that the problems there cannot be solved without the establishment of a two-state structure with East Jerusalem as a state, an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, and without the whole world recognizing that state,” Tunci said. Our country’s policy is also in this direction, so that the bloodshed stops as soon as possible, crimes against humanity are prevented as soon as possible, and those who commit those crimes are held accountable internationally. If they are held accountable and punished, humanity will be saved, we believe that those children, those martyrs, will be held accountable as soon as possible. And they will not escape God’s justice,” he said.
