President Erdogan’s “People’s Alliance” Statement: We will not be fooled by the tactics of those who foment discord
“Four years without elections” message
“We cannot allow a single day of the next four years to go by without great service, an undertaking worthy of the Turkish century, elections filled with megaprojects and reforms in all fields,” Erdogan said in a statement.
Inflation Statement
“Our country’s economic plan, which we have implemented with determination last year, is progressing positively in line with our goals and forecasts,” President Erdogan said, and delivered the following message on inflation: “In the second half of this year, we will begin to receive more encouraging news on inflation in the areas of production, exports and employment.”
Accusations against the opposition
“I believe Turkey should quickly move away from the tense atmosphere caused by the elections and focus with all its energy on the future,” Erdogan said, adding that “we must prevent politics, which is a competition to serve the country and its people, from being perceived as an ongoing war of attrition between different political parties.”
Erdogan also criticized the opposition, saying, “For this reason, the opposition must quickly abandon the habit of playing politics with unjust accusations, slander and accusatory statements that are not in keeping with political decorum. It is time for this to happen,” so that a different style – a constructive, positive and uniting attitude, instead of destructive and provocative language, can infiltrate the opposition’s side. “It has arrived,” he said.
Emphasis on “public alliance”
President Erdogan delivered a message about the People’s Alliance, saying, “The People’s Alliance is a guarantee of unity, solidarity and brotherhood of 85 million people. The stronger our alliance is, the safer Turkey will be. For this reason, we will never do such a thing. We will not allow any hole to be made in the wall of our party and our alliance.”
