It was claimed that the Felicity Party and the Future Party would merge and that the 11th President, Abdullah Gül, would be appointed as chairman.
On the second day of Eid al-Adha, the mutual Eid visits of political party representatives continue in Ankara. The delegation that came to the re-welfare party to celebrate the holiday was hosted by Deputy Chairman Dogan Aydar, Vice President of Research and Development Erkan Serbest, Head of Research and Development of the Women’s Branch Merve Güner, and Head of Economic Affairs of the Women’s Branch Aynur Yangaz.
The visit was made by YRP, Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Yusuf Sunar, SP GİK member Hamdi Driver, SP Deputy Chairman for Elections Ahmet Furkan Kurulçol, Future Party Deputy Chairman Ali Aydin, GP Deputy Chairman Burçak Başbu Ercan, and GP Board Member İsmail Duhan Bulut.
“Our door is open, above our heads.”
According to news from ANKA news agency Mehmet Okhraz, during the visit, the claim that “the Felicity Party and the Future Party will merge and 11th President Abdullah Gul will be appointed as speaker” was on the agenda.
Regarding the allegations, Saadet Party deputy leader Yusuf Snar said, “We welcome them. Our doors are open to everyone. We are already working with the Future Party. We have a group in parliament. Our doors are open. But the Saadet Party’s congress is scheduled to be held on June 30th. We think we will participate in the congress under one name. There is no truth in the news you said.”
“It will be evaluated according to the new formation.”
Future Party deputy Ali Aydin said, “This allegation is very foreign and distant for us. I am a person who meets closely with Abdullah Bey. Abdullah Bey has no such demands or intentions. There is nothing concrete like that at the moment.” A newcomer from the Saadet Party said, “The situation will be reassessed depending on the formation of the headquarters.”
Dogan Aydar, a member of the Rewelcoming Party, also said: “I think the possibility is low. Abdullah is from Kayseri and he has calculated well.”
