Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes faced off in the fourth game of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League final series. Fenerbahce won the match at Ulker Sports and Events Hall by 80-72 in overtime to take a 3-1 series lead and become the champions.
Anadolu Efes trailed by 20 points entering the second quarter but took the lead going into the final quarter, only for Fenerbahce to tie the score again in the final quarter. Papayanis blocked Duş Özdemiroğlu’s game ball at 64-64, sending the game into overtime.
Fenerbahce dominated in extra time with a goal from Nigel Hayes to win 80-72 and take the title.
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Ashkin Bak also watched the match from the stands. Fenerbahce board member Akın Ilkali and the football team’s sports director Mario Branco were also among those who watched the match from the sidelines.
Nigel Hayes-Davis was named MVP.
The most valuable player of the final series was Nigel Hayes-Davies, who excelled in extra time.
The champion raised the cup
At the awards ceremony, Anadolu Efes was the first to be crowned second place, with the Navy/White team captain, Shane Larkin, receiving the award.
Fenerbahce players and technical staff then appeared on stage to present the medals.
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Ashkin Baq, who had been watching the match from the stands, came down to the court for the ceremony at the end of the match and handed the winner’s cup to captain Merih Mahmutoglu. There was great enthusiasm among the players and technical staff as the Champions Cup was handed over to Merih.

Double Cup and Final Four
After beating Anadolu Efes (67-80) in this season’s Turkish Cup final and taking the cup back to the museum, Jasikevicius’ students also managed to play in the EuroLeague Final Four. Fenerbahçe defeated Anadolu Efes in the final series of the Super League 3-1 to win their second cup title of the season.
Anadolu Efes wins most titles
Anadolu Efes is the most successful team in the history of the Basketball Super League, winning the championship 16 times.
He finished the regular season in second place.
Reigning champions Fenerbahçe Beko finished the regular season in second place with 25 wins out of 30 matches, while Anadolu Efes also finished as leaders with the same rating.
Jasikevicius makes history
Fenerbahçe’s Lithuanian head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius experienced the joy of winning in his first season at the helm of the yellow and blue team. After starting the season under Greek coach Dimitris Itoudis, the yellow and blue team was in a bad situation and appointed Sarunas Jasikevicius as the team’s manager in December. Under the Lithuanian’s leadership, the team finished in the top six of the EuroLeague and qualified for the playoffs. In the Superleague, they finished the regular season in second place with 25 wins and 5 draws. As a player with Fenerbahçe in the 2010-2011 season, Sarunas won both the Turkish Cup and Turkish League in one season. This season, Jasikevicius has made his name in history by leading the team to victory as both a player and a head coach.
