Behind the scenes information was shared that the AKP has begun preparations for a “new omnibus law.”
The bill will be debated from start to finish and is expected to include new regulations on everything from taxes to energy, it was said.
According to the news from Turkiye Newspaper, the tax framework will be revised, so those who earn more will be taxed more and the rich will pay higher taxes.
Low-income earners pay one-third
He said that regulations are also being implemented in the energy sector. Investment in renewable energy will be emphasized. Licenses will be revoked if investment is not made within the deadline. The Ministry of Finance and Family has taken measures to provide cheap natural gas to low-income earners.
Natural gas tariffs start based on income: higher-income earners pay the full price, while lower-income earners pay one-third.
The rest will be paid by the state
Government officials said, “There is a huge subsidy for natural gas. The same rate applies to 85 million people, without distinguishing between low-income and wealthy people. We have started an effort to reduce this subsidy to 20 million people in the future.” It is not for individuals, but for the general public. It will become clear within a few days which applications will be implemented. For example, consumers will consume as much as they consume. “If a high-income person receives a bill for 5,000 liras, he or she will receive a bill for 5,000 liras. If a low-income person receives a bill for 5,000 liras, the state will instruct them to pay 30 percent of the bill. “Everyone will receive a bill for what they use. Here, the subsidy portion will be reduced from the general public to the private sector, allowing us to distinguish between low-income and wealthy citizens.”
According to information received, the measures to be taken to ensure justice, especially regarding taxes, were decided at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz.
In this regard, the first thing on the agenda is to remove some exemptions from the tax law that are considered not to contribute to the economy. After examining the tax law, the possibility of exemptions was discussed.
