Thousands of Palestinian supporters in the US surrounded the White House, unfurling a giant red banner bearing the names of Palestinians killed in Gaza.
Israel’s massacre of thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip and continued violent attacks in the region have reverberated around the world. In Washington, D.C., thousands of people responded to the US government, the biggest backer of the Tel Aviv regime’s ongoing attacks in the region. Thousands of Palestinian supporters surrounded the White House carrying a giant red banner bearing the names of the Palestinians who lost their lives.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu, you can’t hide. The demonstrators shouted slogans such as ‘We will judge you as genocidalists,’ ‘Biden, you can’t hide,’ ‘Our red line,’ and ‘Liberate Palestine,’ and held up banners reading ‘Biden’s red line is a lie. Genocide is our red line,’ and ‘Arms embargo against Israel’ carried it.’ In demonstrations that continued despite police intervention with pepper gas and smoke bombs, Palestinian supporters called for a ceasefire, saying, ‘We are sending a message from here to Biden, to Congress, and to the whole world.’
A statement from the Secret Service said security measures had been taken, but some roads were closed in Lafayette Park across from the White House as crowds gathered.
