The Detroit Tigers were shut out by the Milwaukee Brewers, 10-0, on Friday night at Comerica Park.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 31-32 on the season, while the win dropped the Brewers to 37-26.
Tigers starter Reese Olson was defeated, giving up eight runs in just four innings, allowing 12 hits and dropping to 1-7 on the season.
Olson also went against the team’s history with this performance.
According to @JayHayKid of the “Baseball is Dead” podcast on social media:
Reece Olson is just the sixth pitcher in Tigers history and the first since David Price in 2014 to allow 12 or more hits and eight or more runs in four or fewer innings.

For Olson, he has allowed just 12 earned runs in 10 starts, but 13 in his last two outings.
Olson, 24, has a 6-14 record with a 3.77 ERA in 33 games so far, and while he has struggled recently, he still has plenty of potential to contribute to the rebuilding Tigers.
The Tigers and Brewers will meet again on Saturday afternoon with first pitch at 4:10 pm ET. Freddy Peralta will take the mound for Milwaukee and Casey Mize will take the mound for Detroit.
Peralta is 4-3 with a 3.74 ERA this season, while Mize is 1-3 with a 4.70 ERA. This will be his first season back since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022.
The two teams are scheduled to conclude the series on Sunday afternoon.
