Yesterday, teacher Abdulbaki Durmaz was attacked with a gun by an unknown assailant while he was driving his car in Fatih, Bikan Baçoğlu Street, Topkapi District.
The Turkish teacher was seriously injured in the attack and died in hospital.
Police investigation into the incident revealed that the reason for the murder was blood feud.
It turns out that the blood feud that has been going on since 2017 between the two tribes of Batman has resulted in many deaths and injuries.
The final attack was identified as having been carried out by Adem G., an opposing tribesman, together with his brother.
“I know what I did was wrong.”
Police found traces of the suspect they were following at a restaurant. Adem G. was eating when a police team entered and caught him. The suspect told the police officers who caught him, “This is revenge. I know what I did was wrong.” It was learned that he was saying this.
Adem G. was taken to the homicide chief and after questioning at the police station he was transported to the court in an armoured police vehicle.
It was learned that the suspect exercised his right to remain silent and did not make a statement. Adem G. was arraigned in court. Authorities announced that they are continuing to arrest Adem G.’s brother, who was with him at the time of the attack, arrived at the scene, and drove away in a taxi.
