Benny Gantz, a moderate member of Israel’s three-member war cabinet, has threatened to resign if the six-point plan he has prepared for the Gaza operation is not accepted by the government by June 8. At a press conference, Gantz criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu’s attitude toward the Gaza attack. Gantz also presented the six-point action plan he wants the war cabinet to accept at the meeting.
According to the Times of Israel, the items in question are:

2) Completely destroy Hamas and maintain control over Gaza
3) Establish a civil government mechanism for Gaza that includes Americans, Europeans, Arabs, and Palestinians.
4) Send back to their homes Israelis who fled the north due to Hezbollah attacks.

“If you choose to drag the country into the abyss, we will withdraw from the government, return to the people and establish a government and state that can bring about a real victory,” Gantz was quoted as saying by the Jerusalem Post. Meanwhile, members of Gantz’s party have also begun to take action against the government. Many lawmakers have introduced bills in parliament that would dissolve the government.
