WABASH, Ind. (WPTA) — Downtown Wabash Inc. has announced the start of distribution of the Wabash Cultural District map, showcasing the city’s history and culture.
Downtown Wabash Inc. says the Wabash Cultural District map will provide a guide to the Wabash Cultural District and make it easier for visitors to navigate.
“Wabash is rich in history, arts and culture, and this compact map will help guests explore the incredible diversity of our beautiful downtown.”
Downtown Wabash was designated an Indiana Cultural District in 2021 by the Indiana State Arts Commission.
The Wabash Cultural District Map was developed in conjunction with Downtown Wabash, Inc.’s eight-year strategic plan, which aims to increase awareness of the Wabash Cultural District and foster economic growth, community engagement, tourism, collaboration and accessibility within the Wabash Cultural District.
“We believe the Wabash Cultural District map will help increase foot traffic to local businesses by showcasing the great amenities in our downtown district. Ultimately, the map will display our vibrant downtown community and encourage spending at local establishments.”
According to Downtown Wabash, visitors and interested area residents can pick up free Wabash Cultural District maps at the Downtown Wabash office, the Wabash County Tourism Bureau, the Honeywell Center and several businesses in Downtown Wabash and Wabash County.
The Wabash Cultural District map was created with support from the Indiana State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
