The Minnesota Twins lost 9-5 to the New York Yankees on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
The Twins are in third place in the American League Central with a 33-28 record this season, while the Yankees have the best record in the American League with a 44-19 record.
Despite the loss, Twins slugger Royce Lewis made team history by going 1-for-4 with a home run.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com:
Royce Lewis is the first player in Twins/Senators franchise history to hit a home run in each of the first three games of a season.

Unfortunately, Lewis has only played in three games this year due to injury, but he has clearly been productive in the games he has played, hitting a home run in Opening Day before his injury and then homering again on Tuesday and Wednesday after his return.
In seven at-bats this year, he has three hits, three home runs and three RBIs.
Lewis, once a top prospect, is now 25 years old. Unfortunately, he has been plagued by numerous injuries, appearing in just 12 games in 2022 due to a torn ACL, 58 games in 2023 and just three games this year.
If the Twins want to get back into the mix for the division title (7.5 points behind), they need Lewis to stay healthy and provide a presence at the core of their lineup.
The teams meet again on Thursday night with first pitch at 7:05pm ET. Marcus Stroman will take the mound for the Yankees and ace Pablo Lopez will take the mound for Minnesota. Lopez is 5-5 this year while Stroman is 5-2.
