Another forest fire broke out in Antalya after two fires broke out at noon. The fire broke out in a forest in Ahmetlar district at around 15:00. The fire was detected during routine control by an unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Forestry Directorate stationed in Gazipasa, and intervention was launched by a firefighting helicopter from the air and a team from the Manavgat Forestry Management Directorate from the ground. The fire was initially intervened by four helicopters, two planes, eight water tankers, two water trucks, two first response vehicles and a number of forestry workers. He said that firefighting efforts remain intensive.
The first fire broke out near a residential area.
The two fires in Anttraya broke out at around 13:00 in a forest opposite the city of Konyaltı in the Kuşkavai district. Citizens who saw smoke rising reported the situation to the 112 emergency center. Following the call, numerous police and fire brigades were dispatched to the area. The management and employees tried to put out the fires until the teams arrived.
The fire spread over a wide area due to the wind, so the forestry department was asked to assist in the firefighting efforts. The fire was extinguished after about two hours of work with helicopter support. Upon hearing about the fire, CHP Konyaalti Mayor Cem Kotang came to the area and closely monitored the operations.

In order to put out the fire in Konyaltı, TOMA, which is attached to the Antalya Police Station and provides intervention tools for social events, also came to help. A police team intervened in the fire and about seven TOMA personnel arrived, while 50 employees of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and 10 intervention vehicles were on the scene. A large number of water tankers and employees belonging to the Forestry Administration also helped with the firefighting efforts in the area. Nearby businesses provided water and ayran to the teams fighting the fire, affected by the smoke. Some residents tried to put out the fire using hoses and buckets.
The nursery was evacuated
Meanwhile, children studying at a nursery school close to the forest area were evacuated as a precautionary measure, while young children who had been taken into custody for a time in the city of Konyaaltı were handed over to their families.
Second fire in forest area
The second fire broke out in a forested area in Chamkoy, Aksu district. A witness saw smoke and flames coming from there and reported the situation to the team. The team immediately went to the scene and started extinguishing the fire, but it was contained before it could spread to houses and greenhouses. After about two hours of work, the team extinguished the fire and started cooling it.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary-General Durmuş Ali Arslan, who visited the two areas after the fire and made a statement in Konyaltı, said, “The fire, which broke out in an area of 10 hectares, was put out by our team.” However, an area of 1.5 hectares was damaged, but the city said, “50 of our personnel took part in the work here. The fire in Aksu Çamköy was put out by our team,” in addition to 10 intervention vehicles. “We would like to thank the teams from the Antalya Police Department and the Forestry Administration.”
Fire in Denizli
Efforts are underway to extinguish a fire that broke out in a forest area in the Pamukkale district of Denizli province. A fire of unknown cause broke out in a forest area near the Akhan district.
Water tankers, water trucks and bulldozers have been dispatched to the area by the Denizli Regional Forestry Directorate. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade is also supporting the operation. Efforts are continuing to bring the fire under control.
