CBCO
The Ozark Regional Blood Center (CBCO), which provides blood, platelets and plasma to patients at 45 healthcare facilities in the region, is in urgent need of O-negative blood.
Supplies are currently extremely low, with less than a day’s supply of Type O negative blood available. Eligible donors are urged to donate immediately.
O negative blood is essential in emergencies when there is no time to test and match a patient’s blood type. Emergencies like the recent storm highlight the importance of maintaining a strong and stable blood supply, as it is already donated, tested and processed blood that hospitals turn to in emergencies. Recent power outages and storm damage have led to the cancellation of some blood drives and are expected to hinder donations, exacerbating blood shortages.
“CBCO is currently experiencing a shortage of O-negative blood and our supplies are extremely low. As the sole provider of blood to area hospitals, this shortage has a significant impact on our community,” said CBCO spokesperson Michelle Teter. “As the school year comes to an end, we rely on our local community-based donors to maintain an adequate blood supply. If you are eligible, please donate blood. If you’ve never donated blood before, now is the perfect time to start. A small act of kindness today could help save a life in tomorrow’s tragedy.”
All donors will receive a complimentary custom three-quarter sleeve Arkansas Naturals baseball t-shirt and two tickets to an upcoming Arkansas Naturals home game, while supplies last.
Appointments are strongly encouraged to avoid wait times. Donors must be 16 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and have not donated blood in the past 56 days.

This morning, the Taden School of Bentonville unveiled a new monument on campus dedicated to its founders. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, families and community members who came together to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of those who helped to establish the school. Located on the east side of campus adjacent to The Barn, the monument marks the site of the first campus where the Taden School soared from 2017-2019 with the generous support of the Walton Family Foundation. The monument pays tribute to the families of alumni, teachers, professional staff and trustees whose pioneering spirit, imagination and dedication to the mission brought the vision of a Taden education to life.
