Draymond Green has been a starter on four of the Golden State Warriors’ championship teams and has played a key role as a central player behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, but he has also produced some highlight reels of “nasty” moments.
Green’s latest gaffes this season were when he choked Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert and threw a punch at Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic.
Do these recurring moments tarnish Green’s image?
On the latest edition of “The Skip Bayless Show,” Skip Bayless argued that this was the case, and took it a step further.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my career. Draymond Green is, without any exaggeration, the dirtiest player in the history of the NBA,” Bayless said. “Just go on YouTube and watch some dark tapes of Draymond Green’s dirtiest plays over the years…dirty aggression, low blows, risky plays. Draymond is the greatest artist of dirty aggression of all time…Since entering the league, Draymond Green has been ejected a league-high 20 times.”
“He has been called for 151 technical fouls, just behind Russell Westbrook’s 153.”
Green recently called Bayless a “bastard” and Bayless said he would like to invite Green to the set to discuss the matter.
Green was suspended five games for choking Gobert and then indefinitely after the Nurkic shot. He returned about a month later. Green’s other past incidents include stomping Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis during a tie-up and kicking then-Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams below the waist.

Green averaged 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game this season while shooting 49.7/39.5/73.0 from the field as the Warriors finished 10th in the West with a 46-36 record but were eliminated by the Kings in the play-in tournament.
Green, 34, is a two-time All-NBA selection, four-time NBA All-Star and eight-time All-Defensive selection. He spent his entire 12-year career with the Warriors.
