The “CyberEye-42” operation was carried out in 21 provinces, based in Ankara, against people committing the crime of qualified fraud by promising “high profits with zero risk” through a so-called cryptocurrency buying and selling platform called “SmartTradeCoin”.
In the operation against 152 suspects, 127 were detained, who were found to have made illegal gains worth $1 billion (TL32 billion). In addition, 177 real estate and 61 movable properties, worth TL1 billion, one unlicensed gun, one blank gun, and numerous digital materials were seized.

As part of the operation, writer Ashkim Kapşmak was also arrested in Istanbul. After being processed at the police station, Kapşmak was taken to Ankara, where he met with the heads of the organization under the name of a “training and information camp” and handed out certificates to participants. In connection with this, it was noted that an investigation is being conducted against writer Kapşmak for the activity of “recruiting people to structures.”
