The aid comes as hunger in Sacramento County is at an all-time high and more than a year after pandemic-related relief ended, leading to increased demand from the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.
“In the month of March, we provided assistance to more people than at any time in our 48-year history,” said Kevin Buffalino, communications director for Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.
Last month, the agency distributed relief supplies to a whopping 315,000 people.
