May 30, 2024 – A valuable resource is now available for Santa Fe College students and staff facing food insecurity: Whether you need a week’s worth of groceries or just some quick snacks, Saints Food Share is here to help, year-round.
Saints Food Share is committed to alleviating food insecurity, improving the lives of students and enriching our community. Students can individually request a week’s worth of groceries, including canned goods and other shelf-stable foods. These groceries can be picked up weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as a one-time request.
Students can also visit our Grab and Go Pantry locations to pick up pre-prepared bags of groceries and snacks.

The program began as a volunteer effort and has grown into a university-supported department.
The program relies on donations to source much of its food. Events like “Boo at the Zoo” are typically the largest food drive of the year. The 2023 event donated about 6,000 cans of food.
The team works with students to cater for their dietary needs as well – for example, if someone is on a gluten-free diet, Foodshare will make sure the food provided meets that person’s requirements, so students can get what they need rather than throwing away what they can’t eat.
