The activities on the final day of the exercises, which took place at the Doğanbey Firing Range in the Seferihisar district of Izmir, were attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Defense Minister Yasar Güler and Chief of General Staff Metin. Gülak was accompanied by defense ministers and chiefs of general staff of friendly and allied countries, followed by command levels of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Approximately 11,000 personnel from 45 countries are taking part in the Ephesus-2024 exercise, which is aimed at developing the military facilities and capabilities of joint headquarters and forces that will be organized with elements of the countries participating in joint and combined operations, to ensure that they are fully equipped to handle assigned tasks and maintain their combat readiness levels.

The exercise will not target any country and will use scenarios typical of UN peace support operations.

The exercise was conducted by Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Zukhan Jerez, Guinea-Bissau’s Defense Minister Nikalou dos Santos, Congo’s Defense Minister Charles Richard Monjo, Somalia’s Defense Minister Abdulkadir Muhamed Nur, Tanzanian Minister of Defense and National Service Stergomena Lawrence Tax, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs Jacob Marksons Obos, Gambian Defense Minister Serin Modou Nye, Albania’s Chief of Staff Arben Kinji, Azerbaijan’s Chief of Staff Kerim Veliev, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was also monitored by Major General Gojko Knezevic and the United Arab Emirates Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Isa Seif bin Ebran.

The exercise was conducted by the Ministry of Defense, General Staff, Land Forces Command, Naval Forces Command, Air Forces Command, General Staff Special Forces Command, General Gendarmerie Command, Coast Guard Command, ministries, public institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, government agencies and military personnel of 45 countries, including Germany, the United States, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, France, the Gambia, Guinea, Georgia, Italy, Cameroon, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Congo, Kosovo, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Latvia, Libya, Hungary, Mali, Mexico, Mongolia, Moldova, Niger, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
