The doctor who performed the operation, identified in Turkish media only as SGB, has since been arrested and a criminal investigation is ongoing.
When questioned by police, the SGB said Brown suffered no ill effects after the surgery and was discharged from hospital the next day.
She returned to hospital the next day to have her bandages changed, but her condition rapidly deteriorated.
The doctor added that the cause of her sudden illness is unknown. Investigation is ongoing.
A post-mortem examination was carried out, but the results have not yet been published and Mr Brown’s body was returned to the UK for burial.
Social media posts from family and friends paid tribute to her, describing her as a “beautiful soul” and a “close friend.”
“This must be a dream,” one post read. “I still can’t accept it.”
“I miss you so much my angel. I am devastated that you were taken from me so soon,” said another.
A third person suggested Diarra was a childcare worker, but this has not been confirmed by MailOnline.
