It’s a week from this Friday. Last weekend, you all made a difference by joining our hunger-fighting event. And tonight, we know how much you all helped. St. Vincent de Paul tells us that they collected over 8,000 pounds of food at this year’s event, and it’s all because of you. They say that’s enough to feed about 6,800 families. Or maybe it’s better to say that it will provide about 6,800 meals to families in need. So, please help.
2024 Strike Out Hunger event will collect 8,000 pounds of food

The 2024 Strike Out Hunger food drive collected just over 8,000 pounds of food, enough for about 7,000 meals, in the Cincinnati area. St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati (SVDP), which sponsors the event, will distribute the supplies through its Choice Food Pantry in the West End and SVDP’s 13 parish-based food pantries. “The donated food will provide much-needed support and help ensure pantry shelves are stocked for our neighbors this summer,” said Caitlin Reinhart, SVDP’s vice president of external relations. The two-day event was held with support from the Cincinnati Reds and WLWT. St. Vincent de Paul currently feeds about 100 families daily at its Choice Food Pantry, located in the organization’s Neyer Outreach Center.
