Atlanta’s attractions come alive in the winter with festive displays and activities, and even after the holidays are over, there’s still plenty to see and do. Check out this guide to the top attractions to visit in Atlanta this winter.
Atlanta Botanical Garden

Orchid Days: Reflections in Bloom runs from February 14 through April 14 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. See the annual exhibition of the garden’s signature plant collection along with mixed media works by Atlanta artist Lillian Blades. Attend the 2024 Flower Show: Primavera from February 23-25 from 10am-5pm to see beautiful displays of floral design, horticulture, photography and more. Garden Playtime will be open for little ones every Tuesday from 10am-12noon starting March 5th.
Children’s Museum of Atlanta
The Children’s Museum of Atlanta will celebrate the impact of Black innovators and artists through a series of special programs during Black History Month, February 1-29. On February 3, the Atlanta Chinese Dance Troupe will perform a special performance. On February 10, families can take part in the museum’s Mardi Gras Parade.

Hamilton at the Fox Theatre

“Hamilton” returns to Atlanta on Jan. 30. You can see it at the Fox Theatre through Feb. 25 as part of the Regions Bank Broadway Series.
Georgia Aquarium

Visit America’s largest aquarium this winter and take part in special events like Wellness by the Water and Ships Under the Sea: Valentine’s Day (for guests 21 and older). The Georgia Aquarium 5K takes place March 9 and is for ages 8 and up. This quick, 3.1-mile out-and-back course is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race. Dive into the world of marine research and conservation at the Atlanta Science Festival on March 16 and visit booths at the Exploration Expo on March 23.
Illuminarium Atlanta
The Illuminarium is changing the way people experience exhibitions and art. The immersive experience combines digital art and music to create a unique and memorable experience. This winter, choose from a variety of family-friendly experiences, including SPACE: A Journey to the Moon & Beyond and Wild: Safari Experience. On February 11, watch the big game like never before with the Ultimate Watch Party Experience. Enjoy a beer bucket, cocktails, a snack buffet and more. VIP seating is also available.
Stone Mountain Park

Stone Mountain Park will be hosting its second Chinese New Year Festival on select dates from February 10 to 25. Enjoy unique drone shows, light shows, cultural craft activities, storytelling, puppet shows, dancing and drumming displays, and more as you celebrate Chinese New Year.
